Below are our Mission Partners. These are charities, chosen by the congregation who we work closely with and support over the year.  We have two charities from each category. Local, National and International. Below each charity there is more information about them and you can click the link which will take you to each of their websites.

LOCAL 1: Uttlesford

Food Bank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis.

We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

NATIONAL 1:

Mind

We’re Mind. We’re here to fight for mental health. For support, for respect, for you.

We change minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority. By standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those of us with mental health problems.

We support minds – offering help whenever you might need it through our information, advice and local services.

And we connect minds. Bringing together an unstoppable network of individuals and communities – people who care about mental health to make a difference.

INTERNATIONAL 1: Church

Mission Society

Previous curate of St. Mary’s, Lea Williams, and his wife Petra are now leading the Anglican congregation in Brno, Czech Republic. They are developing a vibrant Christian community where people can meet Jesus and grow as disciples.

CMS exist to make disciples of Jesus at the edges. Jesus never gives up. Neither should we. We live in a fractured, hurting world. It can be tempting to give up: on hope, on people, on the idea that things can ever change. Yet, Jesus invites us to follow him on a journey to the edges.

LOCAL 2: CHESS

CHESS works to ensure that people who find themselves homeless are supported in ways that enable them to move forward purposefully and in good health.

To provide a good standard accommodation for the homeless. Supporting improvement in the health and well-being of service users without discrimination or judgement. Giving practical support in achieving independence. Raising awareness of homelessness and to become a catalyst for change and partnership recognising the resources of others.

We care for the homeless and those at risk of homelessness, respecting their need for safety and dignity. Promoting a sense of security, self-worth and acceptance of the diversity of the individuals we serve.

NATIONAL 2: Christians

Against Poverty

Through a team of more than 400 dedicated staff members based in all four UK nations, and hundreds of incredible churches delivering our services, people in desperate need are discovering life-changing freedom and hope every day.

We do this by:

- Advising on the best route out of debt

- Providing coaching on money management

- Giving practical help on finding work

- Providing practical tools on how to live well on low incomes.

INTERNATIONAL:

World Vision

We are a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation, working with the most vulnerable because Jesus is alive in the hardest places to be a child. Our focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life.

We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith. Together we can protect children today, and empower them for tomorrow.
