  • CONNECT 120 IS ALL ABOUT MAKING CONNECTIONS WITH OUR NEIGHBOURS & PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. One great way to begin is to invite them for coffee and cake. Friday 28th September is the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning event, where all the hard work of invitations and planning is done for you!  Connect 120 would like to encourage you to host an event. It can be as small or as large as you want. The added bonus is that whilst you are getting to know each other, you will be raising money for a very worthy cause.     ST MARY’S MUSICIANS MUSIC FOR SEPTEMBER, SATURDAY 29th SEPTEMBER AT 7.30 PM. Join us for a relaxing evening of mixed music, all provided by local talent! All proceeds in aid of church funds. Tickets £8 (under 16s free)

    HARVEST FESTIVAL AT ST. MARY'S, Sunday 7th October at 10.30 am. Join us for our joyful, annual celebration!  If you would like to bring offerings of tinned or dried food to our services, we will ensure that they go to our local Food Bank.  We will also have a special collection for Christian Aid in support of the development and aid work they undertake across the world.

    YOUTH GROUP PARTY! If you’ve ever been involved with St Mary’s Youth Group, please join us for a party on Thursday 11th October from 7.30pm in SMC. RSVP to Ruth for numbers! Youth Group will be taking a break as we reflect on how best to meet the needs of our young people.

    LADIES BRUNCH, SATURDAY 13 OCTOBER 10 am – 12 noon SMC. Do come and join us for coffee, breakfast and a sociable time. Please RSVP to Helen Wright at church or if you can come. Suggested donation of £3.

    ST. MARY’S CHURCH CHILDREN’S CHOIR, 6.00 – 6.30 pm in St. Mary’s for children aged 7 – 12. Join us this term to sing at All Age Services for Education Sunday (with blessing of backpacks), Harvest, All Saints and Advent; to take part in an informal concert with St. Mary’s Musicians (Saturday 29th September), and for special events and services at Remembrance and Christmas.  We meet every Thursday during school terms.     CONNECT 120. This week, Connect 120 means: assemblies in Dunmow St Mary's Primary, Farnham Primary and Magna Carta Primary, the first Bible lunch club at Birchanger Primary, a Dunmow Says Thank You community meeting and lots of planning.

    HOME GROUPS. What are they?  Small groups meeting fortnightly to support one another on our journey of faith.
    What happens at a Home Group?  Time to chat and get to know one another – A cuppa and biscuits or cake – Learning together by discussing a topic, exploring the Bible or following a short course – Prayer.

    LEA ON PLACEMENT. As part of his ongoing training, this month Lea will be on placement in the Diocese in Europe (13 September – 1 October). This is supported by the USPG Expanding Horizons programme which provides clergy with an opportunity to experience and share in the life and mission of the world church. He will be based at Holy Trinity, Brussels ( Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

    THANK YOU TO BECKIE! After over 5 years as our Youth Group Leader, Beckie Rogers has stepped down from this role. If you would like to contribute to a “thank you” present for Beckie, please give any donations to Ruth. We will say a special “thank you” to Beckie in one of our 10.30am services at St Mary’s.

    COFFEE, CAKE & CHATTER. £307 was raised on Tuesday morning, so to date Coffee, Cake & Chatter has given £9000 to Faith in Action & £6600 to St Mary’s church.
