St Mary's Sidesmen's Rotas are in the pigeon holes.

Welcome Paula. Paula Griffiths is a student at Westcott House Theological College in Cambridge. On Tuesday she joins us for her 3 weeks' Pastoral Placement here in Great Dunmow and Barnston. You will meet her at Services and various meetings, but her main work is in shadowing the local clergy and seeing what church life is like from the inside. This is all part of her training in preparation for her ordination in September 2009. When you meet her, please welcome her very warmly.

Truly scrumptious. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard in preparing for this week-end's Countess of Warwick Show. Thank you, too, for those who have volunteered to set up our stalls, and to be present to sell the cakes and serve the refreshments. All that is left now is for everyone to enjoy the show. We can't do anything about the weather - nor the possibility of muddy paths - but we can decide to make the very best of it.

WANTED TOYS (especially), TEDDIES & BOOKS for additional St Mary's Church Toy Bags for our younger members to play with during services. Please speak to Jo Hargrave Tel: 872995 or drop items round to 14 Venmore Drive, Dunmow. Thank you.

David & Sydney are on their Bikes - and Eva's putting her best foot forward! On Saturday 13th September David Rose & Sydney Smith will be cycling for all they're worth, and Eva Percival will be hot-footing it between churches, in the Friends of Essex Churches Ride & Stride fundraising event. Half the money raised remains in our church funds. David, Sydney and Eva will welcome company on the journeys, additional walkers to visit local churches, and sponsors for the Event. All his details are on the two church Noticeboards.

St Andrew's, Barnston. An Evening of Elvis, Cliff & Chips. Fish & Chip meal (including puddings). Plus a 60's & 70's Sing-a-long. St Andrew's Harvest Supper, 27th September at 7.30pm in Barnston Village Hall, Tickets, costing £7.50 each, are now available from David (872504), Anne (876001) or Eva (876510). Please bring your own drinks.
