General News for both parishes (unless stated)
MANY THANKS to all who helped to make last week's 'Water of Life' Holiday Club such a great success. Over 50 children enjoyed two mornings of music, drama, prayer, craft, games and teaching. Special thanks to Jo Hargrave for all her hard work and enthusiasm.
One more week for Cake-making. The finishing line is in sight! The Countess of Warwick Show (August 24th & 25th) is now just 1 week away. The preparations for St Mary's Cake Stall, combined with refreshments, are well under way. The mountain of cakes is growing! PLEASE NOTE: 1. Jay and Deirdre have Freezer space for your cakes. Ring first, to avoid a possible wasted journey, 2. Cakes to be sold on Sunday can be brought to the Vicarage on Saturday evening, 3. Cakes to be sold on Monday can be brought to the Vicarage on Sunday morning or Sunday evening. Further advice and information is available from Vera Davies. Thank you to everyone who is working so hard. All your efforts are very much appreciated.

David & Sydney are on their Bikes - and Eva's putting her best foot forward! On Saturday 13th September David Rose & Sydney Smith will be cycling for all they're worth, and Eva Percival will be hot-footing it between churches, in the Friends of Essex Churches Ride & Stride fundraising event. Half the money raised remains in our church funds. David, Sydney and Eva will welcome company on the journeys, additional walkers to visit local churches, and sponsors for the Event. All his details are on the two church Noticeboards.
NEWS BULLETIN: St Mary's Room is being decorated at the moment.
OUTLOOK should be ready for distribution by next week-end.
St Andrew's, Barnston. An Evening of Elvis, Cliff & Chips. Fish & Chip meal (including puddings). Plus a 60's & 70's Sing-a-long. St Andrew's Harvest Supper, 27th September at 7.30pm in Barnston Village Hall, Tickets, costing £7.50 each, are now available from David (872504), Anne (876001) or Eva (876510). Please bring your own drinks.
