David & Sydney are on their Bikes - and Eva's putting her best foot forward! On Saturday 13th September David Rose & Sydney Smith will be cycling for all they're worth, and Eva Percival will be hot-footing it between churches, in the Friends of Essex Churches Ride & Stride fundraising event. Half the money raised remains in our church funds. David, Sydney and Eva will welcome company on the journeys; additional walkers to visit local churches; and sponsors for the Event. All his details are on the two church Noticeboards.
Brilliant Result. The recent St Mary's Sponsored Walk in London proved to be both most enjoyable and very productive. The sponsorship money received, including the Tax refunds on Gift-aided donations, amounts to £2,019.33. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this sum.
Not much longer for Cake-making. The marathon is well under way! The Countess of Warwick Show (August 24th & 25th) is now only 2 weeks away. St Mary's is, again, providing the Cake Stall combined with refreshments. As we discovered last year, mountains of cakes can be moved! However, a mountain of cakes takes a lot of baking! NOTE: Jay and Deirdre have Freezer space for your cakes. Ring first, to avoid a possible wasted journey. Further advice and information is available from Vera Davies.
NEWS BULLETIN: St Mary's Room is being decorated at the moment.
