General News for both parishes (unless stated)

3.30PM TODAY. A PARTY WITH A DIFFERENCE! We welcome back families who have had children baptised over the last two years. We start with a fun 'service' led by 'Puppets Galore' then move into the Vicarage garden for tea and games.

FAIRTRADE stall here today. It will be the last one before September so stock up now for the summer.

ST MARY'S WEEKLY GIVING ENVELOPES. The new envelopes, which start from July, have now all been delivered. If you have not received your expected new supply please contact Anna Beecroft, the GIFT Secretary on 876254.

SUNDAY JULY 6TH AT 6.00PM AT ST MARY'S: INFORMAL EVENING WORSHIP with the theme of 'Blessing' - what does it mean to bless others and be blessed ourselves? This is the next in our series of special services for the first Sunday evening of the month.

CAKE-MAKING. The marathon has started! The Countess of Warwick Show (August 24th & 25th) is now only 11 weeks away. St Mary's is, again, providing the Cake Stall combined with refreshments. As we discovered last year, mountains of cakes can be moved! However, a mountain of cakes takes a lot of baking! An early start will help. Bake now … freeze for later …. and be ready for the summer rush. Further advice and information is available from Vera Davies.

DAY OUT TO WALTON. To cover the cost of the buses for this trip on July 19th there will be a charge of £7 per person. If you'd like to join the folk who've already booked to go, please see David Rose or Pam Cheal.

MEN'S WEEK-END AWAY. Eddie Clark from St Anne Line Roman Catholic Church has sent information about a Men's Week-end, organised by Harvesters, on July 11th-13th. The venue is Woldingham Park School, Marden Park, Woldingham, Surrey. Further information on the church notice board or from www.harvesters.org.uk

HELP AT HOME. If you struggle changing curtains, light bulbs, clock batteries, smoke detector batteries, and such like, help may be available. Ring Gwynn Davies (872053)to find out.
