BROWNIES

It has been a good year for Guiding in Dunmow and district, as a new Guide company has been started, meeting in Barnston. However, one of the Brownie units has had to close due to lack of leaders - this means that St Mary's Brownies have taken in the girls who were left without a unit, and we are therefore a very large group of 29 girls at the moment.

Since this time last year we have enjoyed a weekend at Skreens Park campsite, an adventure day at Chigwell Row, and an international event at the British Museum, as well as our usual meetings. We have worked on badges ranging from "Rights and Responsibilities" to "Chocolate Challenge", and are currently looking forward to our weekend away at Thriftwood, the Scout campsite at Brentwood, which will have a "space" theme.

RAINBOWS

1st Dunmow Rainbows has been reformed and are now meeting at St. Mary’s every Wednesday from 4.00 pm to 5.15pm during school term. Since reforming we have successfully recruited 15 young 15 Rainbows from the parish and have a waiting list of young girls wishing to join Rainbows and be part of the guiding family.
